Our Favourite Books

Through out this school year we will be taking it in turns to bring in our favourite story or book from home to share with our friends.


Z started us off on our reading adventure today with:


The Gruffalo's Child by Julia Donaldson


  


'I brought it in because I like this book because the little Gruffalo escapes outside and its snowing but the big one stays asleep. The big one snores like Mummy! Cody used to read it to me he is my biggest brother'.




T was very keen to share:


Mr Chatterbox by Roger Hargreaves


 
'Look at this page because there is a big hat. Daddy reads it to me at bedtime. I have the whole complete set'.




D brought in a selection of books but from them all he picked:

Danny's Christmas at the North Pole.


'I really wanted to see Father Christmas and I will show you. Here is Father Christmas because I really want to see him and see all of his colours. He is white and red and he has a belt. I read with Daddy at bedtime'.
O brought in Superheroes 2017 Edition!
'It has got lots of different superheroes in it. It has the badies in it. The avengers I haven't even got them all the but I have. My favourite one in here is has got two pictures of him Flash because he got struck by lightening then he turned into the flash'.

L was very excited to share 'Wibbly Pig Picks a Pet'. Mick Inkpen

'This is my favourite book because the dinosaurs roar. The dinosaurs and roaring because they want to dance with the rabbit. It is a happy book'.

Z has happy to share Kevin and Katie’s Christmas Adventure

 ‘Santa is in my book it is my favourite. Some of the characters are real!! It is happy! Kevin gets a ticket to go on Santa’s train and he meets another carrot. Katie goes on the train too’.



O shared The Smartest Giant in Town by Julia Donaldson


'The giants pants and trousers fell down and it made me laugh! The mouse's house fell down so he gave him his shoe because it gave him blisters!! Then he went to the shop and brought a shirt, belt, socks, a tie and some trousers and then he was the smartest giant in town! My Daddy reads stories to me lots of nights'.

K was very excited about sharing The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson


'It's the Gruffalo but there is one about its child. At the beginning a fox saw the mouse and the mouse looked good! It makes me laugh. My Mummy and Daddy read it to me when it is bedtime'.

T could not wait to share Get into Bed! by Virginia Miller
'He doesn't go to bed because Daddy to go to bed and he said no! He does go to bed at the end because he is tired. Its a happy story. I read it with Mummy'.

E brought in one book from his favourite collection 'Oi Duck-Billed Platypus by Kes Gray & Jim Field
''The kangaroo sits on the jelly because the frog says sit where ever you like, so she decided to sit on the jelly. She's got lots of names and one is Hiigginbottom and that makes me laugh. All of the animals get something to sit on. I like it because it is funny and they all wait and the duck-billed platypus gets grumpy. I read it with Mummy, Daddy and sometimes we share it in Mama and Papas room and we share it with Emiah. I like it because it's made by the same person who made Oi Frog'.

L was happy to share 'What's More Scary than a Shark?' by Paul Bright


'A shark saw another shark he went wibbly wobbly. The crab said oh don't eat me because the sharks try to him. My Mummy reads my book to me in my bedroom. I like it because it's funny'.

E brought in Make Your Own Princess Palace

'I brought this because Trixie makes the chair fall down in musical chairs and it is funny. Trixie licks Penny's cake and when the unicorn gets excited Penny's new crown falls in the bush! Penny says you are too big to hide in a bush! I share my book with Mummy and Daddy.'

T remembered to bring in 'Gorilla Loves Vanilla' by Chae Strathie and Nicola O'Byrne.
'I like this book because the gorilla asks the lady to have some ice-cream and then he has more ice-cream and more and the other people are all out there. The book makes me laugh. My Daddy reads the book to me'.

A was happy to share Bing Messy Cake a Bing Story Book
'I like this book because it makes me happy because Bing is making a cake. I made a cake when it was my Mums birthday. Bing put toppings and fruit on the cake. My brother reads my book to me'.

L was keen to share 'Luna Loves Library Day' by Joseph Coelho and Fiona Lumbers


'I like this book because it's got a story inside a story. The troll eats the book and it makes me happy! I read it at bedtime with Mummy and sometimes Daddy.'

M remembered his story 'So Cosy' by Lerryn Korda
'I like it because loads of animals come into the basket. My favourite is the goat and the snake because I like them. The elephant comes in and then the mouse is on his trunk and then the elephant sneezes and it makes me laugh'.

L was very happy to share 'Disney's Princess Beauty and The Beast Belle'.


'It's my favourite because Belle is in it. They all laugh in the castle. Belle gets happy because she falls in love with the Beast'.

O brought in 'Little Lou and the Woolly Mammoth' by Paula Bowles

'I brought it because I like it because it has a woolly mammoth in it. Once upon a time there was a little girl and little girl was 4. Her wanted to play with somebody and on the floor there was a tangle and there was loads of tangles on her and it was a big woolly mammoth. The woolly mammoth chase the little girl and he had big circle eyes. And he shrinks and shrinks and he goes little. The little girl played with him and they had zig zags. I read it with Mummy and Daddy'.

J was keen to share 'Alan's Big, Scary Teeth' by Jarvis

Jenson held up his favourite page, he pointed to the characters on the page. 'He lost his teeth, he lost all of his teeth and you can't see them. Daddy told me'.

B was happy to share Elephants by Joshua George
'Elephant is in her pants because they like pants. This is my favourite Mummy ready it. I like elephant pants the best'.

L decided her favourite book was about our topic. Henry's Holiday by Gillian Shields.


'I picked this because its called Henry's Holiday and it makes me giggle. This is him on his holiday he gone on a beach and he decided to swim all the way here. This is a funny page because his face is red because its sunny and it's hot.'


C was excited to share Marvin Wanted More! by Joseph Theobald

'It's sad when he doesn't have friends because he is not happy. He eats the planet its funny and then he stays by himself. No one reads it so I read it by myself'.

A was keen to share Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler
'There is a dragon and he tries to eat the witch! The witch lost her hat and then she found it because the dog found it for her. Then her bow fell off and then she tried to find it but it wasn't there because a green bird has found it. I like the bit when they make a potion and get a new broom stick the best. I can read it be myself!'
